Xiaomi has announced its three-day Diwali sale starting October 17, where it is expected to offer flash deals, discounts and new product launches. However, the most notable announcement is the launch of the Mi Max Prime in India during this sale period. As part of the Diwali offers, the Xiaomi Mi Max Prime will go on sale on October 17 through Mi.com for Rs. 19,999.

The Xiaomi Mi Max Prime is essentially another variant of the Mi Max that was launched in India in June this year. During the Mi Max launch, the Chinese conglomerate did announce that the Snapdragon 652 variant with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage will also be available soon in India. And now, the company has decided to bring it to the country during the Diwali sale, and is calling it the Xiaomi Mi Max Prime.
The only difference between Mi Max and Mi Max Prime is the processor, RAM, and internal storage. While the Mi Max is powered by a Snapdragon 650 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage, the Mi Max Prime is powered by a Snapdragon 652 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage.

All the other specification details and dimensions remain the same. The Xiaomi Mi Max Prime sports a hybrid dual-SIM configuration, and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8. It sports a 6.44-inch full-HD (1080×1920) 342ppi display. Apart from the inbuilt storage, the Mi Max Prime also offers option to further expand memory via a microSD slot (up to 128GB).

As for the optics, there’s a 16-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF), f/2.0 aperture, and LED flash. The phablet also bears a 5-megapixel front camera on board with 85-degree wide-angle view.

The Xiaomi Mi Max Prime is backed by a 4850mAh battery, which the company claims can offer up to 14 hours of video playback. It supports 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ A-GPS with Glonass, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac with Mimo. The dimensions measure at 173.1×88.3×7.5mm and the smartphone weighs at 203 grams. It also sports an infrared emitter to act as a universal remote control, apart from an ambient light sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, and proximity sensor.
